Never share your Apple account password, device passcode, or account security information with anyone. Neither Apple nor Apple Authorized Service Providers will ask for this information.
For certain types of software support, you may be asked to enter your device passcode or Apple account password. Be sure to stay present at all times while the technician has access to your device.
Preparing the device for service
Follow these steps before you bring your device to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, or send it to Apple. Depending on whether you bring your device yourself or send it in, you’ll find additional steps in the next sections.
If your device isn’t responding or you can’t complete some of the steps, try as many as you can. You may also be able to complete some steps online on your Apple account page .

- Create backup with iCloud
- Create a backup with your Mac
- Create backup with PC
- Turn off Apple Cash: Go to the Settings app, scroll down, and tap Wallet & Apple Pay. Then turn off Apple Cash.
- Remove your cards and passes from Apple Wallet: Open the Wallet app, select a card or pass, tap the More button, then tap Card Details. Tap Remove Card.
- Turn off Find My: Go to the Settings app > your name > Find My, then tap Find My [device], then turn it off*. If you can’t turn off Find My on your iPhone that way, go to the Find My app or iCloud.com/find, select your iPhone, choose Remove This Device, then follow the onscreen instructions to prepare it for iPhone Repair Dubai.
*To prevent others from obtaining service for your device without your knowledge, Apple may not be able to repair your device if Find My is not turned off.
When you bring your device in for service
If you bring your device to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, you should also check whether you need an appointment. For example, you should make an appointment at the Genius Bar before going to an Apple Store.
When you go to the service center, you should bring the following with you:
- Your device and accessories you need help with (if you need help with your Apple Pencil, bring the iPad you use with your Apple Pencil)
- If possible, your proof of purchase (some repairs may require a proof of purchase)
- An identification document (e.g. your identity card, passport, driving license or other document issued by a government agency)

If you send your device to Apple for service
To send your device to Apple for service, you’ll need to take a few additional steps to prepare your device.
- After you back up your device, erase the device to protect your personal data and remove it from your Apple account: In Settings, tap General > Transfer or Reset iPhone (or iPad), then tap Erase All Content and Settings. You’ll need to enter your Apple account password to confirm.
- If necessary, suspend your cellular service:
- If your device uses a physical SIM, remove it.
- If your device uses an eSIM, contact your carrier to get a new eSIM or suspend cellular service if necessary.
